Parent Coordinator
Jameka Collins - P168X Parent Coordinator
Dear P 168X Community,
My name is Jameka Collins. I started my career with New York City Public Schools as a Parent Leader/ Council member for CCD75 (Citywide Council for District 75). After a year of being a council member I decided to apply for the role of Parent Coordinator. As a parent of a child with special needs who’s also a District 75 student, I felt I would better impact the lives of families inside the school with my 360 prospective. I have over ten years lived experience as an advocate for individuals with Autism, IDD and other special needs. I was previously a Regional Coordinator for a non-for-profit organization that provided resources and support for individuals with special needs and caregivers of individuals with special needs.
Since becoming the Parent Coordinator of P168X, my knowledge has expanded, my network has grown and have fostered genuine positive relationships with parents. During my time as Parent Coordinator, I pledge to remain diligent in supporting families and fostering community.
If you need to contact me, please email me at JCollins34@schools.nyc.gov.
